Control Transformer

Control transformer is an isolation transformer which is used generally in an electronic circuit that requires constant voltage with a low power or volt-amp rating. Control transformers are designed to provide a high degree of secondary voltage regulation for a short period overload condition, which is called or referred to as inrush. Control transformers are sometime called industrial control transformers, machine tool transformers, or control power transformers.

Control transformers are supplying all kinds of electrical circuits like measuring and control circuits, power electronic circuits, control circuits, switch gear and distribution systems, machines to step up or step down transformer.

Construction

  • Open construction (IP00, incorporation up to max. IP 23)
  • Separated windings
  • With more severe requirements on test voltages and creepage distance and clearance in air because these transformers are often exposed to overvoltage.
  • Input-side matching taps.
  • Connections to safe-to-touch screw / screw less terminals in accordance with IEC61558.
  • Additional clamp type terminal on request.
  • High-grade, vacuum impregnation in polyester impregnating resin.
  • Special versions available on request.
